MEET THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Welcome! I’m so excited you’re here. I’m Jordan, a Toronto based beauty and portrait photographer. I discovered photography at the age of 15 and it has been my passion ever since. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Photography from Sheridan College and it was there that I discovered my love for portraiture. I am passionate about telling stories through my photographs and unleashing my clients’ confidence and true personality with every shot. When I am not taking pictures you can find me drawing, experimenting with makeup, playing soccer, cooking or blasting my favourite music.
THE APPROACH
I got my start by drawing faces with a pencil and paper. Sometimes people I knew, sometimes a stranger, and sometimes it would start off being one person, and end up looking like another. Needless to say, I found a great interest in faces — the differences or similarities between them, the unique markings and lines that form on our faces making it unlike anyone else. I loved the familiarity of the faces of strangers I drew and would wonder what they would look like in real life.
I didn't realize the connection between my love for portrait photography and my adolescent hobby of sketching faces were linked until I started to think about why I would get so caught up in taking close-up portraits of my subjects. I realize that the way I use my light is just another interpretation of sketching with my pencil.
Every photographer has their own way of using lighting. I use a mix of continuous lighting and natural light to give a glamorous, rich and cinematic feeling to your portraits. My goal is to put you into the best light — literally. As a kid I was in awe of beautiful things: people, places, movies, songs etc. I would imagine myself in dream-like scenarios where I felt like a character in a film. The way I imagined these scenarios in my head as a kid influences the way in which I want my clients to see themselves on the day of the shoot, and have the photos reignite the feeling that they had, giving it a lasting memory. I want every person who steps in front of my camera to feel like they're a star, and for you to walk away with a lasting feeling of confidence.
